Students in the Secondary School are aged from 13 to 16 years. Teachers and students work together to develop skills of initiative, independence and a sense of pride and purpose. The school encourages students to develop a wide range of skills, knowledge and a growth in social and emotional maturity.

Students in Years 7 to 10 follow the Victorian Curriculum and are offered a broad range of age appropriate programs to cater for their individual needs.

• Awards Victoria (incorporating Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme), including Outdoor Education and Recreation skills

Many students enter Ashwood School at the Secondary level and much care is taken to develop friendships, responsibility and confidence through the outdoor education and camping program, house system, elective activities and assemblies.
